Design and creativity are key. Not just for Denmark, but for the planet when we face major global challenges. We are formidable at designing innovative, wild and creative solutions in so many fields. From the extraction of the planet's resources, energy, weapons, artificial intelligence to the development of technologies that simultaneously influence the behavior of two billion people with addictive screens that remove our impulse control and undermine the presence and intimacy with those closest to us. Now, instead, we must design with open eyes the sustainable solutions that both compensate for the inappropriate design solutions of the past and build on all the good, without harming our world and our human relationships. Kristina is fundamentally an optimist, and she is sure that this is exactly what designers and design thinkers are created for. They must learn to use and manage their design superpower properly – and on an informed basis. For Kristina, design is not an aesthetic exercise, it is a solution, and solutions are not necessarily beautiful. Every day she pushes the development to spread the understanding of design, so that as many people as possible can benefit from design, or understand the broad and important area better. Kristina is director, co-owner and brand strategist at AM Copenhagen. In the design agency, she develops and advises both large established and small start-up companies on brand strategy and design. Kristina sits on several boards and also spends a lot of time spreading knowledge and understanding of the potential in design, including via the podcast "Design Kan..", which she hosts and co-owns and organizes. Kristina is a committed champion of design that moves something, and especially from a sustainability or ethical perspective. This can be seen, among other things, in her work for the Ethics Compass under DDC, and the development of green reporting and brand activation solutions for small and medium-sized companies in close collaboration with specialists in the ESG and SDG area.
