Om Greg Cross

Greg Cross is a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence. He is a serious entrepreneur and one of the world's original tech nomads, having spent his career traveling and living in every major market in the world. In 2016, Greg Cross teamed up with Dr. Mark Sagar to create Soul Machines, a company focused on humanizing the next generation of computer technologies. The spin-out company from the University of Auckland was founded based on the BabyX technology, which was created by Dr. Mark Sagar and his engineering research team at the University's Laboratory for Animate Technologies at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute. Soul Machines is a pioneering high tech company of AI researchers, neurologists, psychologists, artists and innovative thinkers reinventing what is possible in Human Computing. By combining a human face with brain models, Soul Machines literally brings computers to life in a very human way: lifelike, emotionally responsive, with personality and character. Whether they're providing digital humans as virtual customer service and sales agents or humanoid characters that can engage, instruct and teach in an interactive and/or immersive AR/VR experience, there's a good chance you'll end up talking with a "soul machine" in your future. Greg Cross sold his former company PowerbyProxi, one of the world's leading wireless power companies, to Apple in October 2017. He was also the chairman of The ICEHOUSE, which in 2010 was named by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 10 technology incubators in the world. He is the Sir John Logan Campbell Executive in Residence at the University of Auckland Business School.
