Sir Bradley Wiggins is a former British professional road and track cyclist and is one of Great Britain's winningest Olympians. Wiggins made his name on the track, claiming six world titles as well as three Olympic gold medals before deciding to focus solely on the road. A podium finish in the 2009 Tour de France demonstrated Wiggins' Grand Tour potential. He took his first UCI World Tourrace win at the Criterium du Dauphine in 2011. Another Grand Tour podium followed in 2011 at the Vuelta a Espana and Bradley Wiggins completed a near-perfect run in 2012, winning four races en route to the yellow Tour de France jersey. In 2012, he won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award voted for by the public, proving that cycling was catching on with the public. 2013 brought him further success, including the Tour of Britain title, and in 2014 Wiggins was able to add the rainbow jersey to his collection when he won the World Time Trial Championships. In 2015, Bradley Wiggins signed a contract extension with Team Sky until the end of April 2015, before switching to Team WIGGINS to prepare with other members of the British track team for the Rio 2016 Olympics. On 7 June 2015, Wiggins set the hour record , covering 54,536 km (33,881 mi), beating Dowsett's record of 52,937 km (32,894 mi) set five weeks earlier. In the summer of 2016, Wiggins won his 5th Rio Olympics team gold medal and his eighth Olympic medal, making him Great Britain's most successful Olympic competitor of all time. Off the pitch, Bradley has made numerous radio and television programmes, including a special recording put together for BBC Radio 6 Music in which he discussed his love of music and counterculture with Paul Weller, having played guitar with him at a charity gig back in 2012 . Commercially, Bradley Wiggins has previously collaborated with Fred Perry to develop an authentic, non-technical range of cycling clothing. Halfords also has a range of Wiggins bikes designed to encourage kids to get out and cycle #youcanfly. Most recently, Wiggins has announced its long-term strategic partnership with Skoda. In 2018, The Bradley Wiggins Show, hosted by Eurosport, launched, which is a 4-part podcast series available on all major podcast providers, including iTunes and Spotify.
