How do you get back up despite the worst imaginable adversity?

The former shipowner and businessman, Lars Juhl, has lit his candle at both ends and a little in the middle – at the same time. And has paid the price for his choices and priorities in life. As a 43-year-old father of four, and in the best shape of his life, Lars Juhl collapsed dead on the living room floor with cardiac arrest - but was revived by his wife. Later that evening, at Slagelse Hospital, he had another cardiac arrest and another chance with a little help from skilled doctors, a pacemaker and perhaps the higher powers. In the lecture, "Chessmat", Lars Juhl invites us onto the chessboard and shares 3 significant features from his life with us, respectively the Pawn, the Knight and the King. The farmer stands for the young beginning and is about the small piece with the big ambitions. The jumper stands for fast, higher and wilder and gives us a rare insight into life in the overtaking lane. The king stands for both greatness, decline and reflection. It is an epic story about conquests, greatness and fall and about the meaning of life, change management and coping strategies both on a personal and business level.
