Henrik Schramm Rasmussen is a senior advisor and specialist in sustainability and the UN's global goals. He is the founder and owner of MIND YOUR BUSINESS, where he teaches and develops sustainability strategies for the benefit of companies' bottom lines and sustainable development. 

He has worked for Dansk Industri (DI) for 18 years, from which he has gained extensive experience from several companies at home and abroad and through his collaboration with NGOs, authorities and international organisations. 

Throughout time, Henrik has been the creative mastermind and responsible for a number of sustainability projects in Danish Industry, including the flagship project "From philanthropy to business".

He is also the author of the photo book "Women Empower Business".

Henrik is passionate about contributing to creating a more sustainable development in the world, and over the past five years has given over 100 lectures for business leaders, politicians, authorities and organisations.

Finally, he is a certified life coach from MindJuice Academy.

In this lecture, we take a closer look at how companies can communicate sustainability in a transparent and credible way and thus avoid greenwashing.  

In the last 20 years, sustainability has changed from being based on voluntariness to being a customer requirement and a legal requirement. To a large extent, sustainability has also become a competitive condition, and therefore companies need to communicate about their sustainability efforts and products or services. 

While it is important and necessary to communicate about companies' sustainability efforts, and thus contribute to the transformation towards more sustainable societies, sustainability communication is also a discipline with many pitfalls. When, for example, can you call your product "green" or "climate-friendly"?

In line with the development, there is a great focus on misleading sustainability communication, and the complaints to the Consumer Ombudsman are increasing. This leads many companies to completely refrain from communicating or publishing information about their environmental performance or sustainability initiatives, so-called greenhushing for fear of negative publicity.
